I have finalized the mechanics of the game by prototyping for three weeks and I think I found the combination that I want to make for this game.

This game is gonna be a top down endless dasher. Stan, the protagonist needs to dodge the endless wave of ghosts. He does that by swiftly dashing through the enemies to collect points which rewards him with random power ups. The goal of Stan is to survive in the arena for as long as he can. Multiple waves of enemies spawns the longer Stan is in the arena. Wave 1 spawns at the start, Wave 2 spawns after 2 min of survival, and then Wave 3 spawns after 5 mins of survival and so on. Different combination of enemies will keep Stan busy in his quest to stay alive for as long as he can and achieve different achievements throughout his survival.

Stan will have stamina controlling his dash. He wouldn't have unlimited supply of dash but it would be resource he should learn to manage. He can gain stamina by digesting food and with time.

The art style will be inspired by Binding of Isaac. The tile map based area. It would be a small room sort of like an arena where Stan takes on the enemies. The enemies are ghostly and thus keep reappearing thereby giving an illusion of endlessness. Following is the video of a basic scene with character animation and dash. There is also an enemy follow which would be default enemies in the game.

Tomorrow I shall add the basic UI elements to observe health, score, stamina and power-ups.
